1. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using the website you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website. These Terms constitute an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, and do not require a physical or digital signature. The website does not sell goods or services and does not accept payments; no refund or cancellation policy therefore applies to it.
2. Bar Council of India rules
The Bar Council of India does not permit advocates to advertise or solicit work in any form or manner. The website is published only to provide the information that an advocate is permitted to make available under Rule 36 of the Bar Council of India Rules, framed under the Advocates Act, 1961: the name of the firm and its advocates, contact details, enrolment particulars, qualifications and areas of practice. By using the website you confirm that you have sought this information of your own accord and that there has been no advertisement, solicitation, invitation or inducement of any kind by the firm or its members. The firm’s full Disclaimer applies.
3. No legal advice; no advocate–client relationship
The content of the website, including the articles published under Insights, is general information on Indian law as on the date stated in each piece. It is not legal advice, does not take account of the facts of any matter and may not reflect the most recent developments. Using the website, reading its content or sending the firm a message does not create an advocate–client relationship. Such a relationship is created only when the firm confirms an engagement in writing after a conflict check. You should take advice from an advocate on the facts of your own matter before acting or refraining from acting on anything published here.
4. Permitted and prohibited use
You may access and view the website for your personal, non-commercial information and use. You agree not to use the website in any way that is unlawful or that infringes the rights of the firm or any third party. In particular, you agree not to copy, scrape, harvest, mirror, frame or systematically download any part of the website or its content; not to use automated tools to access the website other than ordinary search-engine indexing; not to submit false, misleading, abusive or defamatory material through any form; not to attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, its server or any connected system; not to introduce viruses or other harmful code; and not to use the website to send unsolicited communications or to impersonate any person. Unauthorised use may give rise to a claim for damages and may be an offence under the Information Technology Act, 2000.
5. Content, copyright and quotation
The text, articles, images, graphics, design and arrangement of the website are the property of JurisAxios Law or its licensors and are protected by the Copyright Act, 1957 and other applicable laws. The name “JurisAxios Law” and the firm’s logo are the firm’s marks and may not be used without written permission. Short quotations from an Insights article, with attribution to JurisAxios Law and a link to the article, are permitted. Reproduction, republication or distribution of a full article or any other substantial part of the website requires the firm’s prior written permission, which may be requested at info@jurisaxios.com. Statutes, rules and judgments referred to on the website are public documents; where the website links to them, the terms of the host site apply.
6. Enquiry form and communications
The enquiry form and the e-mail addresses on the website are provided so that you may give the firm a brief outline of a matter. Please do not send confidential documents, passwords, financial details or privileged material through the website or by e-mail until an engagement has been confirmed and a secure channel agreed. Any information you send before that point is received without any undertaking of confidentiality other than that required by law, and the firm may decline to act, including because of a conflict of interest. Internet communications are not fully secure and the firm is not responsible for any interception, loss or delay of messages in transit. Submitting the form does not oblige the firm to respond, although it ordinarily does so within one working day.
7. Third-party websites and links
The website links to external sites such as India Code, the Supreme Court of India, High Courts, the Bar Council of India, legal news reports and map services. These links are provided for reference only. The firm does not control those sites, does not endorse their content and is not responsible for their accuracy, availability, privacy practices or terms, which you should review separately.
8. No warranties
The website and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the firm makes no representation or warranty, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, currency, reliability or suitability of the content, or that the website will be available without interruption, secure or free of errors, viruses or other harmful components.
9. Limitation of liability and indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the firm, its partners, advocates and staff shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or other loss or damage, including loss of profit, data or opportunity, arising from the use of or reliance on the website or its content, or from any inability to access it, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law. You agree to indemnify the firm against any claim, loss or expense arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the website.
10. Personal data
Personal data provided through the website is handled in accordance with the firm’s Privacy Policy and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. The website uses only strictly necessary cookies and browser storage, as described in the Cookie Policy. Questions and grievances relating to personal data may be addressed to the Grievance Officer named in the Privacy Policy.
11. Suspension of access
The firm may suspend, restrict or withdraw access to all or any part of the website at any time, without notice, including for maintenance, security or breach of these Terms. The firm may also modify or remove content at any time.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute arising from the use of the website are governed by the laws of India. The courts at New Delhi shall have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to the firm’s right to seek relief in any other competent court where necessary to protect its rights.
13. Changes to these Terms
The firm may revise these Terms from time to time. The date of the latest revision appears at the top of this page. Continued use of the website after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
